Seth Jones
Seth Jones is a dedicated leader who serves as the Pastor of Buckner Baptist Church, a congregation that has been his spiritual home since childhood. With deep roots in the community and a life defined by service, Seth’s journey is a testament to the power of faith and family legacy.
Spiritual Journey & Calling
- Early Faith: Seth was saved at the age of eight while attending church camp at the Baptist Vista Encampment in Cass, Arkansas.
- The Call to Preach: His path toward ministry became clear at age 18, when he received a definitive calling to preach during a mission trip.
- Ministry Service: Seth carries on a multi-generational legacy of service at Buckner; following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father (both deacons), he served as the Youth Pastor for a decade until 2022. Seth now serves as Pastor.
Professional Life & Interests
- Education: Outside of the pulpit, Seth has committed 15 years to public education and currently serves as an Assistant Principal.
- Hobbies: A fan of mechanical work, he enjoys spending time working on his trucks.
- Family Life: Seth and his wife, Lacey, are the parents of three children: Cale, Matt, and Steely. Much of his time is spent supporting them at sports fields or tending to animals on their family farm.
Vision & Ministry Philosophy
- Core Scripture: His ministry is guided by John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”, a reminder that God’s heart is centered on hope and restoration rather than condemnation.
- Church Vision: Seth views Buckner as a "lighthouse" for the next generation. He believes the church's greatest strength is its sense of family, where multiple generations worship together and support one another through every season of life.
- Purpose: He is dedicated to ensuring every person finds a place to belong, grow, and discover their specific purpose in God’s kingdom.
